A Master’s thesis entitled “The Effect of Nano-Phosphorus Fertilizer and Ethyl Extract of Garlic (Allium Sativum) on Vegetative and Physiological Growth, Yield, and Active Ingredients of Chili Pepper (Capsicum annuum L.)” was discussed at the College of Science, Al-Qadisiyah University. The thesis was presented by researcher Haider Talal Bader Al-Saadi and supervised by Assistant Professor Dr. Samah Saleh Salman.

The thesis aimed to study the response of chili pepper plants treated with nano-phosphorus and garlic extract, and the interaction between them in vegetative and physiological characteristics, yield, and active ingredients. It also aimed to determine the optimal concentrations of both nano-phosphorus and garlic extract that achieved the highest values for the studied indicators.

The results of the study showed that using nano-fertilizer increased all components of the vegetative growth of the chili pepper plant. The use of garlic extract also improved the values of all components of the vegetative growth of the chili pepper plant treated with nano-fertilizer and garlic extract. Garlic and its interaction significantly increased most mineral values, including nitrogen, calcium, magnesium, and zinc, in pepper plant leaves. Treatment with nano-fertilizers and garlic extract, and their interaction, significantly increased enzyme, carbohydrate, and protein values in pepper plants.

The most important recommendation is to fertilize with nano-fertilizer at a level of 6 mg/L, as this yields encouraging results in the growth and production of chili pepper plants. Further intensive studies should be conducted at higher concentrations than those used in this study, or at different concentrations. Additional field and laboratory experiments should be carried out on other plants using the same concentrations as in this study.
