Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Rahi Kalaf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Arts, Professor Dr. Nabil Imran Al-Khalidi, the Department of Geography at the College of Arts, Al-Qadisiyah University, held a workshop entitled “Research Ideas in Spatial Studies.” The workshop was presented by Professor Dr. Hussein Ali Abdul Hussein and Professor Dr. [Name Missing]. Ibrahim Naji Abbas and Workshop Management: Dr. Khaled Marzouk
The workshop aimed to introduce participants to theories of creativity and spatial idea generation (associative, Gestalt, behavioral, Guilford, humanistic, and cognitive) and link them to modern geographical interpretation. It also aimed to empower trainees to use artificial intelligence tools for spatial clustering, classification, prediction, and anomaly detection to transform data into knowledge and equip researchers with the ability to formulate spatial questions and hypotheses based on the results of the analysis.
The most important recommendation is the necessity of integrating classical theories of creativity with modern artificial intelligence tools to build an integrated methodology for generating spatial ideas. This methodology should balance theoretical analysis with advanced computational capabilities and adopt supportive and stimulating research environments that encourage critical thinking. Creative
