The Department of Civil Engineering at the College of Engineering, Al-Qadisiyah University, discussed the Master’s thesis entitled “An Experimental Study on Lightweight Concrete Reinforced with Ordinary and High-Strength Sustainable Fibers” in the postgraduate studies discussion hall. The thesis was presented by researcher Marwa Karim Sabr and supervised by Professor Dr. [Name of Professor]. Mohammed Shamel Mohammed

This study aimed to produce and characterize high-strength, sustainable lightweight concrete (HSLWC) using a dual-use expanded clay lightweight aggregate (LECA) and 100% recycled fine aggregate (RFA) derived from crushed concrete waste. This addresses the environmental and resource challenges associated with the heavy reliance on natural aggregates and construction and demolition waste.

The study also included a comprehensive pilot program on 14 concrete mixes to evaluate their freshness, mechanical, durability, and microstructure properties.
