Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Rahi Kalaf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Arts, Professor Dr. Nabil Imran Al-Khalidi, the Department of Psychology at the College of Arts, Al-Qadisiyah University, held a scientific seminar entitled “Psychological Prevention of Drug Use in the University Environment.” The seminar was presented by Dr. Firas Abdul-Khaliq Al-Ghanimi and Ms. Hanan Lafteh.
The seminar addressed the importance of enhancing psychological awareness among students and considered psychological prevention as the cornerstone in reducing the spread of drug use within the university campus. It was also emphasized that prevention begins with the student’s self-understanding and their ability to cope with stress in healthy ways.
The symposium concluded with a set of recommendations, including integrating mental health programs into university activities, conducting training workshops to develop stress management skills, enhancing communication between students and professors to reduce psychological isolation, and fostering collaboration between psychological, administrative, and security departments within the university
