The Media and Government Communication Division, in cooperation with the Psychological and Educational Counseling Unit at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at Al-Qadisiyah University, held an awareness campaign against drug abuse. Faculty members and students participated in the campaign, which included distributing posters focusing on the importance of avoiding drug use, the reasons for drug use, the penalties for drug users, and the harms of drugs to individuals, families, and society, highlighting drug use as a path to suicide. The campaign also addressed the most important methods for prevention and curbing its spread.
The campaign aimed to raise student awareness and prevent the spread of suicidal tendencies and drug abuse, which are considered major causes of the stagnation of young people’s potential in society. It also aimed to explain the psychological, social, and legal harms and dangers of drugs to Iraqi society.
