Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Rahi Kalaf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education, Professor Dr. Sattar Hamid Hamza Al-Janabi, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Education held a scientific seminar entitled “Family and Educational Integration in Promoting Mental Health and Reducing Drug Use.” The seminar was presented by Assistant Lecturer Ali Qasim Hammadi.
The seminar addressed the educational role of the institution as a supportive environment that provides guidance and follow-up, and contributes to developing students’ sound thinking and decision-making skills, thus protecting them from being drawn into risky behaviors.
The most important recommendations included strengthening communication between families and the university to monitor students’ psychological and academic behavior, activating awareness programs and workshops in academic departments in line with the national strategy for combating drugs, and intensifying psychological counseling services to help students cope with stress.
