The Department of Roads and Transportation Engineering at the College of Engineering, Al-Qadisiyah University, held a specialized scientific course entitled “Comprehensive Testing of Road Construction Materials” in the Continuing Education Unit hall. The course was presented by Assistant Lecturer Rania Ihsan Ali.
The course aimed to enhance the participants’ knowledge and skills regarding the importance and nature of laboratory and field tests necessary to ensure the quality and durability of different road layers.
The course covered in detail the testing of construction materials and roads, as well as modern techniques used to test basic road components such as aggregates, asphalt materials, and soil. It also addressed quality assurance and the role of these tests in ensuring that materials conform to approved engineering standards, thus guaranteeing the road’s service life and reducing maintenance costs.
