Professor Dr. Rahi Kalaf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, President of Al-Qadisiyah University, participated in an awareness seminar on early detection of breast cancer, organized by the Center for Hereditary and Hemorrhagic Blood Diseases (Thalassemia) in Diwaniyah. The seminar was attended by Dr. Muhannad Al-Mayali, Director General of the Diwaniyah Health Department; Dr. Aqeel Kamel, Director of the Maternity and Children’s Teaching Hospital; Dr. Ola Abdul-Zahra, Director of the Center; Ms. Sundus Al-Moussawi, Head of the Health Committee and member of the Provincial Council; Ms. Zainab Al-Abidi, member of the Provincial Council; and a number of professors and specialist physicians.
The Director General opened the seminar with a speech praising the center’s activities. The seminar was moderated by Dr. Marwa Abdul-Amir Al-Yasiri, a specialist physician, who emphasized the importance of early screening, modern methods for detecting breast cancer, and the need to adopt scientific methods for its prevention. Furthermore, it is essential to involve relevant institutions in launching similar awareness campaigns to promote a culture of early detection and methods of preventing breast cancer.
The symposium concluded with the reading of important scientific recommendations and the honoring of several supporters, contributors, and distinguished individuals.
