Under the supervision of Professor Dr. Munir Abdul Amir Abdul Fatlawi, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Al-Qadisiyah University, the Department of Diseases and Poultry Diseases held a seminar on strategies used to reduce disease incidence in poultry farms. The seminar was attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Israa Najm Abdullah
The objective of the seminar is to highlight the importance of implementing biosecurity measures in poultry farms, identify the most important pathogens that threaten poultry production, demonstrate the role of good management and balanced nutrition in reducing infections, and enhance the awareness of breeders and workers about daily preventive practices.
The most important recommendations include the necessity of implementing biosecurity as a basic measure in all farms, developing accurate vaccination programs and regularly monitoring their implementation, ensuring general hygiene in the pens and disinfecting them between cycles, reducing the use of antibiotics and replacing them with natural immune-boosting methods, and activating veterinary oversight and continuous scientific supervision of the farms.
