Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Rahi Kalf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Biotechnology, Professor Dr. Mohammed Abdul-Wahab Al-Askari, the College of Biotechnology held a workshop entitled “The Use of Biotechnology in Promoting Sustainable Development.” Assistant Professor Dr. Ihsan Abdul-Hadi Kazim lectured.
The workshop addressed the use of biotechnology in promoting sustainable development across various fields, such as agriculture (increasing productivity, reducing pesticides, and resisting drought), energy (biofuel production), environmental treatment (cleaning up contaminated soil and water), and health (improving food quality). Its applications include using microbes to improve soil health, develop higher-quality crops, reduce waste, and produce renewable resources
