Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Rahi Kalf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, President of Al-Qadisiyah University, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Munir Abdul Amir Abdul Fatlawi, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, the Microbiology Department at the college organized a training course entitled “Computational Methods in Microbiome Analysis.” Professor Dr. Ali Hassan Dagher lectured.
The course aimed to introduce participants to the most important software and computer platforms used in microbiome data analysis, develop skills in processing NGS data and 16S rRNA gene sequencing, and understand the relationship between the microbiome and human and animal health from a computational perspective.
The most important recommendations are to support graduate programs by introducing courses on bioinformatics and microbiome analysis. Encouraging research collaboration between computer and biological laboratories, as well as organizing periodic workshops to keep up with rapid developments in this emerging field
