Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Rahi Kallaf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Assistant Professor Dr. Asaad Hassan Al-Zaidi, the College of Pharmacy held a training course entitled “Phytotherapy and Extraction Techniques Using the Soxhlet Extractor in Developing Herbal Medicines.” The course was presented by Asst. Murtadha Saleh Hussein.
The course addressed the importance of medicinal plants in the therapeutic field, highlighting the role of modern extraction techniques, particularly the Soxhlet extractor, in obtaining active compounds from plants.
The mechanism of the device and the steps for its use were explained, with reference to its applications in the herbal pharmaceutical industry. Participants concluded with results confirming the importance of this technology in improving the quality of plant products and supporting scientific research in the field of pharmaceuticals
