The Psychological Counseling Unit at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences organized a guidance seminar entitled “University Student Behavior,” presented by M.M. Statement by Najm Abdul

The seminar aimed to clarify the behavior and ethics of university students, their obligations and duties toward their educational institutions, and the behaviors they must follow to be productive and effective members within the institution.

The seminar addressed a number of essential issues affecting the life of university students today, which they must be aware of and conscious of. These can be summarized as follows: The general values and ethics that university students should possess. This section, presented by the lecturer, clarified the great values and principles that university students should adhere to, which elevate them to the virtues of morality and avoid anything that harms these principles in any way. It also emphasized commitment to the university’s ethics and values, being a model for implementing the university’s vision and mission, and being careful in their relationships with their colleagues, professors, and all those on campus. This is achieved through good relationships, avoiding personal gain, and focusing on what serves the public good.

University Student Duties: This section presented and explained that students must be aware of and adhere to the regulations, instructions, and laws that university students must be aware of, such as: Student discipline rules, absences, exam regulations, and behaviors that must be adhered to inside the classroom and within college corridors, such as internal corridors, break areas, the college library, and other academic departments within the university. The course also addressed academic awareness, including the need to pay attention to and prioritize academic and cognitive pursuits during the period spent at university, adherence to the ethics of scientific research, and the importance of maintaining academic classrooms and various equipment. The most important recommendations are the need to instill a spirit of tolerance, participation, and cooperation among students and their professors. Their goal should be knowledge, respect, and affirmation of university ethics and norms, and refraining from engaging in any behavior that violates Islamic morals or public decency.
