The College of Science at Al-Qadisiyah University holds a workshop on the dangers of smoking.

Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Rahi Kalf Al-Yasiri, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Professor Dr. Salwan Ali Obaid Al-Hamzawi, the Psychological Counseling and Social Guidance Unit at the College of Science conducted a workshop entitled “Smoking: Facts and Effects.” Presented by Asst. Dr. Lujain Ibrahim Hussein and Asst. Dr. Taif Mazhar Muslim, the workshop aimed to raise awareness of the dangers of smoking and its health and social effects, encourage smoking cessation, and raise awareness of the importance of public health. The workshop also included several topics, including a definition of smoking and its types, components of smoke, the harmful effects of smoking on humans, and strategies and methods for quitting smoking. Key recommendations: The role and importance of psychological and medical support in smoking cessation, awareness of the harmful effects of smoking, and the importance of community involvement in combating smoking and protecting youth from smoking through awareness campaigns.
