Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Rahi Kalf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, President of Al-Qadisiyah University, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Hayawi Waheed Attia Al-Jawdari, Dean of the College of Agriculture, the College of Agriculture held a scientific workshop entitled “The Green University and Prospects for Achieving It.” Assistant Professor Dr. Raad Farhan Shahid lectured. The workshop’s objective was to highlight the environmental goals the university seeks to achieve, and to highlight the important role played by the College of Agriculture in achieving these goals. The most important conclusions, according to the lecturer, are the possibility of achieving a green university transformation by investing in modern buildings, increasing green spaces, and establishing clean energy systems. The most important recommendations include the need to combine efforts and allocate a portion of the college budget to the green transformation, as well as partially introducing solar energy systems into buildings. He also highlighted the need to provide financial allocations to achieve the goal of a green university and reduce carbon emissions through the use of clean energy.
