Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Assistant Professor Dr. Bashir Shaker Al-Awadi, the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences held an awareness workshop on “Preserving the University Environment.” Lectured by Assistant Professor Hoda Jumaa Ziad and Assistant Professor Bayan Najm Abdul, the workshop aimed to enhance understanding of environmental issues and how to conserve available natural resources through: preserving the university environment and the role of institutions and the media in raising awareness; the environment; and the role of students in protecting and preserving the environment by encouraging students to participate in environmental protection activities, such as volunteering in clean-up campaigns, planting trees, supporting the use of renewable energy resources, recycling, and reducing waste; and raising environmental awareness by organizing workshops, seminars, and media campaigns to educate about the importance of environmental conservation. The workshop concluded by emphasizing the importance of teamwork and cooperation among university students to preserve the environment and natural resources, and encouraging students to take tangible steps in their daily lives to support environmental awareness efforts.
