Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Rahi Kalf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, President of Al-Qadisiyah University, and under the supervision of Dr. Munir Abdul Amir Al-Fatlawi, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, the Department of Microbiology at the college held a discussion session on the use of various molecular diagnostic methods to detect a wide range of pathogens and their resistance genes. Assistant Professor Dr. Alaa Mohammed Abdul Razzaq attended. The session aimed to highlight the possibility of using various genetic tests, such as the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in its various forms, to detect many infectious, genetic, and epidemic diseases, given the high sensitivity and specificity of molecular testing. The session recommended the need to support the necessary capabilities and develop skills in the field of advanced molecular diagnostics, particularly in the field of advanced scientific research and evolutionary analysis, to delve deeper into genetic diversity and the evolutionary relationships between various pathogens.
