Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Rahi Kalf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, President of Al-Qadisiyah University, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Munir Abdul Amir Abdul Fatlawi, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, and in cooperation with the Sustainable Development Unit, the Public Health Department held a workshop on renewable energy and its role in achieving sustainable development. Assistant Professor Dr. Alia Hussein Muhammad Ali presented the workshop.
The workshop aimed to study the impact of renewable energy on achieving sustainable development and raise awareness of the need to rationalize the consumption of traditional energy sources to enable future generations to benefit from them. It also aimed to develop strong strategies and methods for transitioning to a renewable energy economy in Iraq.
The workshop also included introducing participants to the importance of increasing energy demand to achieve development goals while reducing the use of traditional energy. It also highlighted the role of renewable energy and its importance in achieving sustainable development without harming the environment.
