The Department of Road and Transportation Engineering at the College of Engineering at Al-Qadisiyah University organized a scientific course entitled “Soil Investigations” in the Continuing Education Unit Hall. Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Abdullah and Assistant Professor Sari Ali Saadoun lectured. The soil investigation course aimed to raise awareness among participants of the importance of studying and analyzing soil properties before embarking on any construction or engineering project. The course also demonstrated that soil investigations are the first and most fundamental step in any engineering or construction project, as they study soil properties and determine its suitability to bear the loads resulting from structures. The safety and efficiency of engineering designs depend largely on the accuracy of soil investigations, making them essential for avoiding future problems such as subsidence or collapses.
