The Department of Materials Engineering at the College of Engineering at Al-Qadisiyah University organized a scientific course entitled “Corrosion of Reinforcing Steel Used in Concrete Hydraulic Structures: Types and Protection Methods.” The course was held in the Continuing Education Unit Hall. Assistant Professor Qasim Mazhar Turki lectured. The course aimed to protect reinforcing steel used in concrete structures using various protection methods, including the use of organic inhibitors. The course also included an introduction to the types of corrosion that occur in these structures and the use of various protection methods, including cathodic protection and the use of various inhibitors. It focused on an environmentally friendly organic inhibitor (the use of eucalyptus leaf powder as an organic inhibitor).
