The Civil Engineering Department at the College of Engineering at Al-Qadisiyah University organized a training course entitled “Introducing the Total Station and How to Use It in Engineering Projects.” The course was held in the Continuing Education Unit Hall. Lecturers included Asst. Majid Abdul-Muhammad and Eng. Jaafar Salman Abdul-Sada. The course aimed to familiarize students with the Total Station and how to use it in engineering projects. The course also focused on the Total Station, one of the most accurate and reliable surveying devices used in engineering sites. It then went on to explain the device’s components, how it works in measuring distances, angles, and coordinates, and the types of total stations (manual, automatic, and equipped with a GPS tracking system).
