A scientific symposium at the College of Pharmacy at Al-Qadisiyah University on drugs and their negative impact on the individual, his family, and society.

Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Rahi Kalf Al-Yasiri, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Assistant Professor Dr. Asaad Hassan Al-Zaidi, the College of Pharmacy organized a scientific awareness seminar entitled “The Scourge of Drugs and Its Negative Impact on Youth and Methods of Prevention.” Lectured by Assistant Professor Nour Abdul Hassan Issa and Sheikh Hafez Al-Aboudi, the seminar aimed to educate students about the harms and physiological effects in the short and long term. The seminar also addressed the general definition of drugs, the jurisprudential definition, the signs of an addicted person, the psychological, health, and economic impact of addiction, how to treat an addict, and the stages of treatment. The seminar recommended adhering to the doctor’s prescription when taking medication and according to the recommended doses. It also recommended holding numerous awareness seminars for young people that address legal penalties and religious aspects. It also recommended intensifying efforts and measures taken to limit the effects of drugs and eliminate the factors contributing to their spread. It also urged young people to stay away from suspicious groups and to choose good friends.
