(The Role of Green Energy in Reducing Emissions and Environmental Pollutants That Cause Cancer). Presented by:
1. Asst. Dr. Raad Farhan Shahd / Assistant Professor, Green Education Unit
2. Asst. Ms. Sura Ali Abdul Hussein / College of Science / Biology Specialization
3. Asst. Ms. Zahraa Issa Radhi / College of Science / Biology Specialization
4. M.M. Nouris Abbas Alwan, Head of the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Science
The symposium aimed to introduce green energy as one of the most important alternative energy sources that can replace carbon-based fuels, which are a significant source of environmental pollution and contribute to the negative effects of climate change and global warming, which in turn leads to many of the climate fluctuations that affect humanity.
The symposium also covered the impact of fossil fuels (such as coal, oil, and natural gas) on health and air pollution, which produces harmful emissions including fine particulate matter, nitrogen oxides, and sulfur. These substances can lead to health problems, including cancer and respiratory diseases.
The symposium also highlighted the importance of greater reliance on renewable energy, which can stimulate a renaissance in health and reduce pollution-related diseases, including cancer. The transition to green energy represents an important step toward reducing the causes of cancer and improving public health. While there are still challenges to be addressed, the potential benefits of renewable energy in reducing pollution and improving air quality make it a healthy and sustainable option for the future.
