The Museum of Arts and Antiquities at Al-Qadisiyah University held a scientific training course entitled:

The course, which was held at the College of Archaeology, was attended by:
– Asst. Prof. Dr. Jassim Abdul-Amir / College of Archaeology / Department of Cuneiform Studies

– Researcher. Haider Najah Mandeel / University Presidency
The course addressed the foundations and priorities of archaeological surveying of archaeological and heritage sites, what researchers must do before embarking on an archaeological survey, the importance of basic tools, and an understanding of the work and how to use satellites and the Internet to establish and connect archaeological site points. It also focused on how to divide sites into squares with fixed scientific measurements.
The course aimed to consolidate information about archaeological and heritage sites so that researchers can refer to them during research and excavation, as well as developing the skills of researchers and students of archaeology colleges according to this precise scientific approach.
The course concluded that most sites are exposed to vandalism and extinction due to weather and topographic factors. Therefore, regular archaeological surveys must be reconsidered, and updating archaeological surveys from time to time is a necessity for all researchers.
The course recommended the need to intensify archaeological survey courses for researchers and students, and to hold courses for museum and agency employees in the field of preserving and organizing archaeological finds in museums. It also recommended that students be familiarized with museums as a priority in preserving archaeological finds and a country’s heritage, history, and identity. Fixed for each community.
