Al-Qadisiyah University holds the first central scientific conference on combating terrorism and extremist ideology, in cooperation with the Popular Mobilization Forces, with the attendance of government, academic, and specialist figures.

Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and under the supervision of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Kadhim Jabr Al-Jubouri, and in cooperation with the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) in Diwaniyah, the University of Al-Qadisiyah held its first central scientific conference to combat terrorism and extremist ideology. The conference, titled “Combating Terrorism and Extremist Ideologies: The Path to Building a Prosperous and Safer Society,” was attended by the Governor of Diwaniyah, the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Provincial Council, members of the council, government, security, military, and religious figures, judges, advisors, researchers, university professors, as well as assistants and deans of colleges. The conference, which was held in the Grand Conference Hall of the College of Medicine at Al-Qadisiyah University, included opening remarks by the University President, a speech by the Governor of Diwaniyah, Professor Abbas Al-Zamili, a speech by the Commander of the Middle Euphrates Operations of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) and Commander of the Ali Akbar Brigade, Major General Ali Al-Hamdani, and a speech by Sheikh Hisham Al-Sulaymani, Deputy Director General of the Education Directorate of the PMF. The conference also included a scientific forum through a discussion panel moderated by Dr. Hazem Fadel Abu Sakhr, a lecturer at Warith al-Anbiya University and head of the War Documentation Division at the al-Abbas’s Holy Shrine. The panel featured:
– Mr. Ismail al-Awadi, head of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) in Diwaniyah
– Major General Dr. Ali Handoul, Dean of the National Defense College
– Sheikh Dr. Muhammad al-Nouri, Deputy Chairman of the Permanent National Committee for Community Awareness and Guidance in the Prime Minister’s Office and Assistant Director General of the General Directorate for Combating Intellectual Terrorism at the PMF
– Professor Dr. Abdul Zahra al-Khafaji, a psychiatric consultant at the College of Medicine
– Judge Hamza Jihad al-Ziyadi
– Artist Dr. Sinan al-Azzawi
The forum, which was co-organized by the Scientific Affairs Department, discussed the most important key themes related to the legal, educational and psychological, religious and cultural, media and technical, health, and social aspects, as well as theatrical arts, drama, and acting, and methods for utilizing them to educate society and combat extremist movements intellectually, psychologically, and behaviorally. The first day concluded with a ceremony honoring supporters, participants, moderators, and a select group of guests.
