The College of Science at Al-Qadisiyah University holds a seminar on the rights and etiquette of honoring parents

Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Kazem Jabir Al-Jubouri, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Professor Dr. Silwan Ali Obeid Al-Hamzawi, the Psychological Guidance and Social Orientation Unit at the College of Science organized a workshop in collaboration with the Holy Al-Husseiniya Shrine on the topic of “Honoring Parents: Rights and Etiquette,” presented by Dr. Alaa Taha Yaseen.

The seminar aimed to highlight the importance of honoring parents as a gateway to paradise, emphasizing that honoring parents is one of the most important duties and one of the greatest obligations, ranking among the best deeds after the obligatory prayers. This serves as a reminder of their greatness and significant role in an individual’s life.

The seminar included several axes:
First, the definition of honoring parents both terminologically and linguistically. The second axis aimed to address the importance of honoring parents, based on the Holy Quran and prophetic traditions.

The rights of parents form the Islamic message, encompassing all related matters, and represent an important humanitarian issue, making it a central and solid foundation in interpersonal relationships within the Muslim family.

The seminar concluded with recommendations:
To honor parents by treating them kindly during their lives, obeying them in what is good, and being generous and respectful in speech, listening, and obedience in what is good.
