In accordance with the national strategy for combating corruption, the legal unit, in collaboration with the continuous education unit at the College of Law at Al-Qadisiyah University, held a training workshop titled (Ways to Curb the Spread of Financial and Administrative Corruption). The workshop was presented by Dr. Ali Abdul Sada Jaeze, legal consultant Bushra Abdul Kazem Jawad, and legal expert Ali Jabbar Talib.
The workshop aimed to shed light on the most important ways to curb the spread of financial and administrative corruption, focusing on both legal and administrative methods.
The workshop concluded that the methods to curb the spread of financial and administrative corruption are not limited to legal means, represented by the punitive texts in the Iraqi Penal Code No. 111 of 1969, but also include administrative methods. The first of these is the existence of a complete and effective professional administrative team and the selection of competent employees within the team, alongside a precise monitoring system. Additionally, a sound and robust accounting system is essential, along with the use of automated means to control and ensure the accuracy of accounting data, and the distribution of tasks to avoid concentrating them in specific individuals.
The workshop recommended adopting a culture of transparency by assigning administrative tasks to competent employees, relying on automated programs to control and ensure the accuracy of accounting data, as well as self-monitoring by management and continuous evaluation of employee performance.
