The Department of Financial and Banking Sciences at the College of Management and Economics held a workshop titled “Professional Banking Ethics” in Al-Maqrizi Hall, presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Ghanem Shaker.
The workshop aimed to highlight the behavioral and professional qualities that bank employees must possess. Customers’ impressions of a bank, whether positive or negative, are shaped by the behavior and capabilities of employees. This underscores the importance of caring for bank employees, training them, developing their capabilities and competencies, and paying attention to the selection process and the foundations upon which the selection process is based. This effectively contributes to activating the role of employees in gaining and strengthening customer confidence to achieve the bank’s goals.
The workshop concluded that employee behavior reflects their beliefs. Therefore, if we want them to gain customer confidence, the bank departments in which they work must first and foremost earn their trust. An employee does not reflect a good image of his organization unless he is convinced of what he says and conveys. The continuation of these departments in providing what is necessary to gain the trust of employees is indispensable for employees to continue doing what is necessary to gain the trust of customers. The continuation of providing good and effective service, friendly and professional dealings, following confidentiality in dealing and transparency with customers, and speed of completion is a basis that is characterized by sustainability and must be followed by financial institutions to ensure their continuity and progress.
