Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Kadhim Jabr Al-Jubouri, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Assistant Professor Dr. Asaad Hassan Al-Zaidi, the Women’s Affairs Unit, in cooperation with the activities at the College of Pharmacy, held its first annual festival on the occasion of Iraqi Women’s National Day under the slogan “Iraqi Women: Challenges, Stories, and Successes.” The festival activities began with the playing of the Iraqi national anthem, the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, and the recitation of Surat Al-Fatihah for the souls of Iraq’s martyrs. This was followed by a speech by the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Asaad Hassan Al-Zaidi, in which he emphasized the importance of women’s role in the advancement and development of society. The festival also featured a speech by the head of the Women’s Affairs Unit at the college, Assistant Professor Dr. The parents of Jabbar Al-Hilali emphasized the role of Iraqi women in various fields, both academic and social. M.E. Marwa Hadi Salem then gave an awareness lecture in which she explained the story of the celebration of Women’s Day. This was followed by a video presentation about previous activities carried out by the Women’s Affairs Unit at the college over the past years, both inside and outside the college. The festival concluded with the presentation of gifts to outstanding students and students with success stories, honoring guests with certificates of appreciation, and then honoring the hardworking female faculty and staff at the college. All female members of the college were honored by being given a letter of thanks and appreciation by the Dean in recognition of their efforts.
