The College of Science at Al-Qadisiyah University holds a scientific symposium on autism.

Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Kadhim Jabr Al-Jubouri, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Professor Dr. Salwan Ali Obaid Al-Hamzawi, the Psychological and Social Counseling and Guidance Unit held a scientific symposium entitled “Autism: Symptoms, Causes, and Treatment.” Presented by Asst. M. Taif Mazhar Muslim, the symposium aimed to introduce autism, its symptoms, and the main difficulties experienced by autistic patients. It also explored the various causes leading to autism, such as genetic disorders and environmental factors, and outlined the complications of autism. The symposium concluded with recommendations, including that focusing on the positive aspects of children with autism can have a powerful and constructive impact on their development and self-confidence. This approach encourages appreciation and enhancement of the child’s abilities and talents, rather than focusing solely on challenges or shortcomings. It also focused on paying attention to the child’s expressions of autism and providing a safe zone in the home.
