The College of Science at Al-Qadisiyah University holds a scientific symposium on community peace and rejecting extremism.

Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Kazem Jabr Al-Jubouri, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Professor Dr. Salwan Ali Obeid Al-Hamzawi, the Psychological and Social Guidance and Counseling Unit at the College of Science held a scientific symposium entitled “Community Peace and Rejecting Extremism.” Presented by Asst. Dr. Ashraf Ayal Matar and Asst. Dr. Hussein Kamel Awad, the symposium aimed to combat extremism and promote community peace. It included several topics, including defining the concept of peace, which leads to coexistence and community peace, and what the concept of peace includes and the manifestations of extremism. The symposium’s most important recommendations included the need to activate peaceful coexistence in society, reject extremism in all its forms, activate the role of educational institutions in spreading a culture of peace, defeat extremism that leads to terrorism, and support activities that achieve community stability.
