Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Kadhim Jabr Al-Jubouri, President of Al-Qadisiyah University, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Munir Abdul Amir Abdul Fatlawi, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, the Department of Physiology, Biochemistry, and Pharmacology at the college held a training course entitled “Strategies for Reducing Drug Cardiotoxicity.” Assistant Professor Dr. Noura Kazim Hadi lectured.
The course aimed to identify the most important strategies used to implement various therapeutic and preventive measures to reduce cardiotoxicity resulting from the use of drugs, particularly anti-cancer drugs.
The most important recommendations are the need to take advantage of these strategies by early detection of drug cardiotoxicity and the use of cardioprotective drugs in cancer patients undergoing drug therapy, as heart disease caused by drug toxicity remains one of the major causes that threaten the lives of patients undergoing anti-cancer chemotherapy.
