Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Kadhim Jabr Al-Jubouri, President of Al-Qadisiyah University, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Fine Arts, Professor Dr. Kadhim Nower Al-Zubaidi, the College of Fine Arts held a symposium entitled “The Problem of Discourse in Contemporary Art.” Professor Dr. Kadhim Nower Al-Zubaidi lectured.
The symposium aimed to examine discourse in contemporary art as a problematic issue related to how art is produced, consumed, and interpreted within different social and cultural contexts. This problem stems from several factors, including stylistic pluralism, the overlap between the arts, the influence of globalization, new media, and changes in the concept of beauty and meaning.
The symposium recommended the need to deconstruct traditional and modern artistic discourse. The artistic discourse was largely clear, relying on specific aesthetic rules and critical criteria.
