A scientific workshop at the College of Pharmacy at Al-Qadisiyah University on determining the purity of hydrogen peroxide using oxidation-reduction reactions in pharmaceutical chemistry.

Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Kadhim Jabr Al-Jubouri, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Assistant Professor Dr. Asaad Hassan Al-Zaidi, the College of Pharmacy held a scientific workshop entitled “Determining the Purity of Hydrogen Peroxide Using Redox Reactions in Pharmaceutical Chemistry.” Presented by Pharmacist Haneen Najm and Asst. M.E. Nour Abdul Hussein, the workshop aimed to determine the purity of hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂) using titration methods based on redox reactions. The focus will also be on the reaction with potassium permanganate (KMnO₄) as an oxidant in an acidic medium, which is one of the most accurate methods in pharmaceutical chemistry. The workshop recommended comparing the results with pharmaceutical quality standards to determine the extent to which the sample conforms to specifications.
