Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Kazem Jaber Al-Jubouri, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Ali Hassan Ali Murad, the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Dentistry held a training course titled “Childhood Obesity and Its Future Risks,” presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Widad Abdul Jawad.
The course aimed to identify the complications caused by obesity in children that affect high blood pressure and elevated triglyceride levels in the blood.
The course recommended the necessity of complete monitoring by parents, changing the child’s dietary behavior, avoiding the use of food as a reward or punishment, and avoiding sweetened beverages and soft drinks while reducing fast food rich in fats and calories.
