The Educational and Psychological Guidance Unit at the College of Law at Al-Qadisiyah University held a scientific symposium titled “The Challenges Facing the Family and Determining the Divorce Rate,” presented by Major Abbas Burdan and managed by Assistant Prof. Abdullah Jabbar Khashan.
The seminar aimed to highlight the main challenges facing the family and society that can lead to increased divorce rates, as well as ways to address and combat these issues through community awareness of the effects of this phenomenon.
The symposium concluded that economic problems, represented by financial pressures and rising living costs, may lead to conflicts between spouses, as well as social and cultural changes represented by differing values between generations and the impact of globalization, which can lead to gaps between family members.
The symposium recommended promoting a culture of tolerance in resolving issues among family members to prevent the escalation of problems and subsequent divorce, as well as enhancing the role of relevant agencies in addressing these issues, such as social research and community policing in cases that require intervention by these agencies. It also emphasized the importance of promoting the culture of resorting to community policing to resolve family problems and strengthening its role, especially in matters of extortion and others.
