The Psychological Guidance Unit at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at Al-Qadisiyah University held an advisory seminar titled “Rejecting Religious Extremism,” presented by Assistant Lecturer Mohannad Fadel.
The seminar aimed to present important information about the phenomenon of religious extremism and its risks to individuals and society, particularly the youth, given their vital role in development and building.
The most important recommendations include the necessity of building a national strategy to limit the spread of extremism, particularly by addressing the causes that lead to it, such as poverty and ignorance. Additionally, it encourages media institutions to address the phenomenon of religious extremism and its societal risks in their programs, and calls on religious leaders to adopt a moderate religious discourse in religious meetings and lectures.
