The College of Veterinary Medicine at Al-Qadisiyah University holds a discussion session on the importance of animal products in the industry

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Kazem Jabir Al-Jubouri, President of Al-Qadisiyah University, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Munir Abdul Amir Abdul-Fattah, the Department of Physiology organized a discussion session on the importance of animal products in the industry, presented by Prof. Dr. Nours Kazem Mahdi.

The session aimed to address that many countries around the world are meeting the increasing demand for animal products, largely through extensive animal production and accompanying food chains. Farm animals, alongside food production, play significant roles on economic, cultural, and social levels and fulfill various functions and services. They are integral to agricultural ecosystems.

The session highlighted that adopting integrated, comprehensive approaches based on local communities supports achieving sustainable increases in livestock production. The synergies resulting from the integration of crop production systems and livestock production systems provide numerous opportunities for farmers to achieve sustainable increases in productivity and resource-use efficiency. Mixed systems that combine crops and livestock produce nearly half of the world’s food supply.
