Al-Qadisiyah University participates in the ministerial workshop on the British QS ranking held at Al-Anbar University.
Al-Qadisiyah University participated in the scientific workshop organized by the Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation Department / Quality Assurance Division affiliated with the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority of the Ministry of Higher Education, which focused on the British QS ranking and was held in the Martyrs’ Hall at Al-Anbar University. The university was represented by M.M. Saif Safaa Shakir, a faculty member in the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, assigned to the Quality Assurance Department at the university’s presidency.
The workshop addressed key topics, including the types of the British QS ranking and the most important criteria upon which it is based, as well as providing comparisons between Al-Anbar University and global universities, highlighting areas of convergence and progress, and presenting the results achieved by Iraqi universities according to the goals set by the British QS Foundation and ranking each university based on each goal.
The workshop concluded with several recommendations, the most important of which were to improve the quality of scientific research and the academic environment, increase scientific research output, publish in reputable journals, enhance citation counts of research, bolster international presence by attracting foreign students, improve the university’s reputation through marketing research via media, and increase collaboration with the industrial sector to encourage patents and discuss the possibility of Iraqi universities participating in this important ranking.
