Under the sponsorship of Professor Dr. Kazem Jaber Al-Habouri, President of Al-Qadisiyah University, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Munir Abdul Amir Abdul Fattah, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, the Department of Veterinary Microbiology in the college organized a seminar on the role of the cryptosporidium parasite as one of the causes of diarrhea in humans and animals, presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Noor Aidan Jarad.
The seminar aimed to identify the importance of the cryptosporidium parasite and its danger to humans and animals, as well as the ways of transmission of the parasite to humans and animals, and to recognize the main clinical signs of this parasite.
The seminar recommended the necessity of treating infected individuals, paying attention to personal hygiene, using sterilized water, thoroughly washing fruits and vegetables, and avoiding contact with infected individuals. The treatment process includes administering fluids to infected individuals either orally or intravenously to compensate for lost fluids and prevent dehydration.
