Under the sponsorship of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Kazem Jabr Al-Jubouri, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Ali Hassan Ali Murad, the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Dentistry organized a training course titled (How to Operate the PCR Device), presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Durrar Kamel Jabbar.
The course aimed to familiarize participants with the PCR device, its usage, and applications, which are currently prevalent and essential in many cases, as it is used in medical laboratories and clinical laboratory research for a wide range of practical applications, including biomedical research and forensic medicine.
The course recommended the necessity of understanding the shortcomings of this device, which may sometimes involve contamination of the sample under examination, leading to false results, and at times the device requires specific tools. Additionally, there is a lack of error correction systems for incorrect associations and it lacks clinical verification, among other issues.
