The College of Engineering at Al-Qadisiyah University holds an awareness and cultural seminar on cyber security and its role in reducing electronic blackmail

The Women’s Affairs Unit, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Engineering at Al-Qadisiyah University, held an awareness seminar entitled (Cybersecurity and its Role in Reducing Electronic Blackmail), presented by M.M. Israa Riyad Abdul-Ridha and Dr.M. Israa Amer Daham. The seminar aimed to educate individuals and society about the importance of cybersecurity in protecting personal data and sensitive information from cyber attacks, especially electronic blackmail. It also sheds light on digital protection methods and provides legal and technical guidance to reduce the risks of hacking and blackmail. The seminar included several axes, including the definition of cybersecurity and its importance in the digital age, the concept of electronic blackmail, its types and causes, the most important means of protection from hacking and cyber threats, the importance of community awareness and cyber culture to protect individuals from blackmail, in addition to how to report electronic blackmail and deal with it in safe ways, the latest security technologies used to combat cybercrimes
