Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Kazem Jabr Al-Jubouri, President of Al-Qadisiyah University, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hayawi Waheed Attia Al-Juthari, Dean of the College of Agriculture, the College of Agriculture at Al-Qadisiyah University held an awareness workshop entitled (Drugs and their impact on Iraqi community security), in which Dr. Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Jassim Hussein, Assistant Professor Dr. Karar Dhiab Abdul Joda, and Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Nazim Karim lectured. The workshop addressed the fact that drugs have been a real threat to the structure of Iraqi society for more than two decades in various forms and types, and the means of preventing them and their dangerous effects on society have multiplied. Hence, the Iraqi government has worked to confront drug trafficking and abuse through the Anti-Narcotics Directorate, which is one of the most important directorates in the country, and to seek to form an anti-narcotics apparatus similar to the anti-terrorism apparatus, because drugs are no less dangerous than terrorism in weakening the state’s ability to advance at all economic, security, military and cultural levels.
