The mechanisms for monitoring chemical stores in colleges and the central chemical store were discussed during the University Council session in the presence of the President and members of the Council after hosting the Head of the Chemical, Biological and Radiological Safety and Security Division, Prof. Dr. Mai Jalil Abdul.
The discussion included following up on the needs of all university stores and emphasizing supervision and control over the circulation of all chemical and biological materials through semi-annual inventories, as well as implementing all necessary procedures aimed at maintaining chemical, biological and radiological safety and security within the university.
The Council stressed the importance of supervising the management of hazardous chemical and biological materials within the central store and the necessity of holding introductory workshops and seminars to spread awareness within the university by defining the danger of the incorrect use of chemicals and monitoring chemical and biological stores periodically through specialized committees to diagnose weaknesses and eliminate them.
