Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Kazem Jabir Al-Jubouri, President of Al-Qadisiyah University, and in the presence of the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Satar Abdul Hassan Al-Fatlawi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Arts, Professor Dr. Nabil Imran Al-Khalidi, the Department of Arabic Language at the College of Arts held the first annual festival on the occasion of the birth of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) in the hall of the Martyrs of the Popular Mobilization Forces at the college.
The festival began with a recitation from the Holy Quran by the reader Mu’ammal Al-Khafaji, followed by a lecture titled “A Reading in the Biography of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him)” presented by Professor Dr. Haidar Habib, in which he discussed the birth of Imam Ali (peace be upon him), his upbringing, whether he was a poet, and the truth about his infallibility in poetry. The lecturer also addressed the children of the Imam and discussed the book of Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him) by Sheikh Al-Azhari Abdul Fattah Abdul.
Then a lecture titled “The Language of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him)” was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Hussam Adnan Al-Yasiri, in which he discussed some of the sermons of the Imam, analyzing the words used in them, the precision of expression, the significance of the vocabulary in his sermons, and the central meanings of some of the terms found in his speeches.
