Under the sponsorship of Professor Dr. Kazem Jabr Al-Jubouri, President of Al-Qadisiyah University, and supervised by Professor Dr. Munir Abdul Amir Abdul Fattah Al-Tamimi, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the college held a scientific awareness seminar on the terrorism of electronic games and their impact on Iraqi youth. The seminar featured legal researcher Judge Kazem Abdul Jassim Al-Zaydi and Assistant Professor Dr. Laith Hamza Ali Al-Tamimi, with Ms. Mayad Qader, head of the Women’s Affairs Unit in the College of Veterinary Medicine, moderating the session.
The seminar aimed to highlight the most significant negative effects of these games on individuals’ psychological development and their tendency to violate the law. It also aimed to provide participants with legal and psychological information that would promote legal and psychological culture in the university environment, especially regarding the harms resulting from electronic gaming sites.
The main recommendations included activating laws that limit the spread of activities and events that incite youth to violence, strengthening religious motivation by urging religious leaders to educate youth about avoiding distractions that divert them from their religious duties, and the necessity of government support for youth activities and centers that would support their hobbies.
