Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Kazem Jabr Al-Jubouri, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Arts, Professor Dr. Nabil Imran Al-Khalidi, and the Director of the Continuing Education Center, Professor Dr. Mousa Khalaf Awad, the Continuing Education Center / Development Division, in collaboration with the English Department in the College of Arts, organized an educational scientific workshop titled “Artificial Intelligence and its Applications in Translation.”
The workshop featured presentations by:
– Assistant Professor Dr. Alaa Taima
– And Assistant Lecturer Hanan Jamal.
The workshop aimed to clarify artificial intelligence and its tools in translation, as well as address the ethical considerations and concerns regarding the use of artificial intelligence and its tools in translation. It also discussed some tools that utilize artificial intelligence (such as DeepL, Matecat, openL, Litmaps, Reverso, and others) in translation. In conclusion, the workshop addressed the uses of ChatGPT in translation.
The workshop recommended the necessity of paying attention to artificial intelligence and leveraging its immense capabilities in translation, and called for organizing similar workshops to increase awareness and education regarding the employment of artificial intelligence in the academic university scene.
