Under the sponsorship of Professor Dr. Kazem Jaber Al-Jubouri, President of Al-Qadisiyah University, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Durgham Majid Hamid Al-Fatlawi, Dean of the Nursing College, the Nursing College held a scientific course titled (The Scourge of Drugs: Its Causes and Effects on Youth). The course was presented by Dr. Hassanein Riyad Abdul Kazem and Mr. Ali Kazem Karim.
The course aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of drugs and addiction through awareness programs targeting primarily adolescents and youth, who are considered the main force in the process of building society.
The course included several topics, including the definition of drugs and their types, their negative effects on health, psychology, and mental aspects, in addition to their harms to society, the causes leading to addiction, treatment methods, as well as the legal aspects established by the state to combat this dangerous phenomenon.
