Under the sponsorship of Professor Dr. Kazem Jabir Al-Jubouri, President of Al-Qadisiyah University, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Munir Abdul Amir Abdul Fattah, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, the Department of Physiology, Biochemistry, and Pharmacology at the college held a training course titled “How to Reduce Drug Resistance Using Combination Therapy,” presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Hussein Salman.
The course aimed to understand how combination therapy works to enhance the efficacy of drugs and reduce the therapeutic dose required for treatment, thereby minimizing side effects and inhibiting the development of drug resistance through synergistic and complementary molecular mechanisms.
During this course, there was an intensive discussion on the advantages of combination therapy over single-agent therapy in certain cases, where combination chemotherapy can modulate various signaling pathways in cancer cells, leading to synergistic responses aimed at increasing therapeutic effects and overcoming drug resistance.
