Under the supervision of Professor Dr. Munir Abdul Amir Abdul Fatlawi, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Al-Qadisiyah University, the Department of Microbiology at the college held a workshop on the most important parasites that cause abortion, in which M.M. Sari Razzaq Khadir lectured. The workshop included introducing the attendees to the fact that parasites are among the most prominent pathogenic causes of abortion, and among the most important parasites is the Neospora Caninum parasite, which is a single-celled parasite that infects dogs, and the Toxoplasma gondi parasite, which is a single-celled parasite that infects cats, and humans are its host. The most important recommendations are the need to improve the educational level of people and train them to be aware of the protozoa that cause abortion, with reference to their life cycle. Hands, cutting boards, and knives that come into contact with undercooked meat should be washed, as well as vegetables and fruits, in addition to taking precautions when touching animals.
